Korean 食べ放題 BBQ & An Interesting Night

First off...went to Korean BBQ and, as always, (because Korean food is delicious) it was amazing.
Had some makkoli and plenty of panchan! The panchan reminded me of when I used to work at Tofu Village in Little Tokyo :)
Met lots of new people and it was fun, and since it was all-you-can-eat, I...ATE A LOT. And by the way, a couple pictures down it's KASUGA and then me and "KURONO KEI"!!
Afterwards, went to the Masquerade Party and it was SO CROWDED. SO HOT. But I mean, it's Japan and it's not raining anymore which means its humid 24/7 so there was nothing to be done. Quite fun ☆ ALSO, ran into the director from Mentai Wide, hahahahahahahaha. Aside from that...me and Chika pictured below!!
Also, on the walk back home...
Had a couple INTERESTING encounters.
But then again, it could have been my fault. It was 3 a.m. and I was walking home alone wearing these (pictured below).

Mentai Wide!!

Got interviewed for the FBS street interview show "Mentai Wide"!

It was actually really fun, talked about all sorts of things from shuuji to okonomiyaki to Japanese toilets. Chin-nen, the awesome interviewer, and I even did a host club role play type thing. I'm actually not quite sure how we got to that point, but the main thing is that it was really fun.
I think it airs this coming Tuesday? I don't know...THINGS I MUST KNOW.

Bee tee dubs, I started feeling better and went to work/school on Wednesday and Thursday, but MY COUGH IS BACK NOW. HOW IS THIS HAPPENING? Anyways, I'm thinking it would be nice if I'm back to 100% by Monday.

Also, if you ever see anything called Spirytus, RUN.

Sicky Sick Sick

No REAL photos to put up because I basically haven't done anything for the past 2-3 days. I somehow managed to catch a cold :(
It's like one million degrees outside (ballpark estimate) and I still got a cold. WHYYYY?!
Oh well...It'll pass so I just gotta wait it out.
Last night, my landlady made me this really nice little dinner set (bento-type sich) and it was really good and really sweet of her. Ahh if only kindness could cure a cold, I would be all better :)
I'm not going to work/school today as well (just RESTING...and eating) so hopefully lying around the house will make me better by tomorrow.

Sweeping Through The Western World We Love

I can't drive here in Japan,
but I have so many plans for when I get back home.
The Subz took me all over Northern California and Oregon and redwood forests when I was younger, and now it's My Subaru and I'm so excited to take it on more adventures.
I love Japan, I love Fukuoka,
but I'm excited to go back to the western world.
First, I need to fully enjoy the rest of my 4 months here, though :)

Hitomi On National TV- Youtube Video!

On Japanese TV for the second time!
Too bad they make fun of me for taking pictures of "backs", hahaha.
「真剣な表情で...バックショットばっかり」

Can you spot me in this one?!
(hint- jk not a hint, I'll just tell you. 5 minute mark, 5:48 mark, 7:45 mark)

But for the record, seriously, Yamakasa was amazing. I don't know if I'll be in Fukuoka again next year, but hopefully I get to see it again in my lifetime.

やばい ★ やばい ★ やばい

Went to a really delicious and cheap izakaya in Daimyo with Yukari on Friday. We ate to our heart's content, had some wine, and then headed off to karaoke! So much fun! But of course, if it's ACB Karaoke, it's always gonna be amazing. The staff there is so nice :)

Then I headed off for the night (above photos) and had a RRREAAALLL good time. I feel like everyone was there last night. Had a really good time is what I'M TRYING TO SAY. And I heard "Club Can't Handle Me Now" and SO MUCH PITBULL so I mean...what else could make that better, right?

Plans for the rest of the weekend
Saturday- Club OD to see Kenta do his thaaaang in the DJ booth, haha!
Sunday- FINALLY make the trip over to Dazaifu Temple. I went last year, but it's really beautiful so it's worth it to go again. And I can get all sorts of wonderful omiyage for my family. And take pictures of housing.

Plans for today before OD- GO EAT at that nearby ramen shop (15 second walk from my apartment, AH the beauty) that I found when walking home the other day. RAMEN RAMEN RAMEN, why do I love you so? Maybe because you're DELICIOUS. Well, if they sell udon there, I might get that instead, though. And I saw they sell gyoza there, too, and my MAIN SIDE DISH is gyoza so...どうしよう?Gyoza & Ramen or Gyoza & Udon?

Blue Skies & Udon

A few of the things that will make me happy any day.

Can't sleep, 2:42 a.m. Too hot to sleep, but it's not too bad cause I get to see reruns of today's sumo matches on TV.

WATER 24/7

Tsuyu (rainy season) is OVER!!
But it makes the humidity even crazier, and I can feel the HEAT.

Because of the humidity, I've been drinking SO MUCH WATER lately. I don't really like the milk here in Japan, so that means I gotta be drinking water 24/7.

I've lost my voice for the past week or so and I FINALLY GOT IT BACK, though!

Thanks to the water maybe??

小倉祇園太鼓!!Taiko Festival in Kokura!

Kokura is actually a really cool city. I wanna go back to just look around.

Oh and I still can't get ALL THE DRUMMING out of my head. But Japan can be too quiet sometimes, so it was a nice change :)

There's a drumming noise inside my head
That starts when you're around.
I swear that you could hear it,
It makes such an almighty sound.

Yamakasa!

Yamakasa was this morning!
And by "this morning", I mean THIS MORNING.
5 a.m. to be exact.

Yamakasa is so amazing. There are different teams from different parts of Fukuoka and they race to carry these HUGE shrines to an ending point. The amount of people involved is CRAZY. Kids and adults and everyone. Yamakasa is so fun. Water throwing, and oisa oisa, and being able to hear taiko drums in the distance.

ANYWAYS x2, there was a camera crew from FBS (a TV station in Fukuoka) following us so hopefully I'll make the cut and be on television tomorrow at 6:30!

One of the shrines broke at the very end and they started taking it apart and handing out the pieces! I happened to be super close so I went up and asked if I could have a part. Now I have a piece of Yamakasa to keep with me forever :)

But seriously, festivals are the coolest!
I love them. I want to go to all of them.
